Absolution is a live action drama, co-written and directed by Seth Wyberg & Michael J. Petty, that is, in one word, about redemption. This film explores the internal monologue of a guilty man as he hides from his past and learns that he can’t outrun what he’s done and the implications that guilt puts upon a person. It also explores the process of repentance as Joe begins to become remorseful of his past actions and makes a life-or-death decision contrary to his self-preservational impulses. The theme of redemption is explored in this film by a heavy reliance on visual storytelling and intense sound design in place of dialogue (of which there is none), thus showing the character’s internal thought processes and responses of the heart and mind.
